The Sriracha Fried Chicken is an easy recipe that gives you lovely, crispy, and slightly sweet fried succulent chicken with the flavor of Sriracha.
The prep time for this recipe is 10 minutes and the cook time can be reduced too if the oil is really hot.
Things you will need
- 500 grams of chicken,
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup Pineapple Sriracha from MamaLan for that extra sweetness
- ¼ cup flour
- 2 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon spring onions (this is optional)
- Oil to fry
Instructions
- For the batter you need to mix the flour, MamaLan’s Pineapple Sriracha sauce, salt, and a touch of water if needed. Combine these for a thick consistency. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
- Add the chicken pieces to the batter, these could be breast pieces, drum sticks or wings, whichever one you prefer. Coat them well with the batter, for a quick marination let it sit with the batter for 10 minutes.
- Pour the breadcrumbs in a plate.
- Heat the oil, make it hot enough then reduce the flame to stop your chicken from burning.
- Roll your chicken piece in the breadcrumbs and place the coated chicken in the oil.
- Turn it over and fry until the batter is golden and chicken is cooked through.
- Make sure you don’t add too many chicken pieces in the oil at once, this will drop the oil temperature and you will not get the desired texture for the chicken.
- Keep a close eye on the oil’s temperature, and once done, drain the oil and place the chicken on the kitchen towels.
